This work explores the similarity between the erosion of physical form due to ocean activity, and the the act of remembering - and how memory is also eroded. I look to find beauty in the objects and artefacts I lark from the coastline, using them to create a fictional narrative about past times, just as we create lore when we speak of memories from long ago. The picture above is one of my larking maps that I use to recover items and document strata, fauna, flora, and human activity. Additionally, in doing this work, I make a small dent upon the centuries of refuse in our waters, and hope to persuade others to do the same.
