As we sketch, we find new ideas. This exercise was about pushing myself to sketch 200 abstract pieces with only two pencils in a confined square.
Sketching warms up our hands, but it also warms up our grasp on the concepts of creative output. You can see this in real-time as I sketched my way through all two hundred squares in six hours - essentially documenting my mental state and focus through mark-making.
